Burning Tips - FULL SBI Tutorial
Tutorial: Burning Sbis Full tutorial on how to burn SBIs was taken from consolevision!
Another form of download from the site is Sbi. The differences between the two are explained here. This tutorial is also included with the download for Selfboot Inducer.Download Selfboot Inducer and install it to the default directory C:\Sbinducr
First of all, you'll need to collect some sbis to burn. Various websites, including Consolevision and DCEmulation, have them available for download.
Inside of the Sbi directory is the file Sbi.reg. This is a very small file that registers the extension .sbi with Windows. It is completely optional, but its purpose is to prevent Internet Explorer from saving sbi as File.sbi.sbi. Double click and answer yes to load it. After you've loaded it, delete it to keep the directory clean.
Once the reg file has been deleted, the Sbi directory should be empty to fill up. : ) Download all sbi archives to this directory. Once you have the sbis you'd like to burn, launch the main application, Sbinducr.exe.
A dos window will appear as well, and is the status window. It displays the progress of the launched applications, as well as the output messages of Selfboot Inducer.
First of all, click on the barcode icon to extract your downloaded sbis. You can watch the status of extraction on the dos window. Once it is finished, the dos window will read "Completed". It might take a while to extract depending on the amount and size of your sbi.
Once this is finished, you then have the choice of what type of image to create, or to use CDRecord. Hovering the mouse above the icons displays their meaning, but here is a rundown as well.
The snake is DiscJuggler.
The fire is Nero Burning Rom.
The second fire is Nero TAO.
The CD case is CDRecord.
If you're creating an image to burn, simply click on the appropriate button. If you're wanting to use Nero Burning Rom, click the first Nero icon. Track-At-Once mode is only useful for cdrw drives that cannot record using Disk-At-Once. Once it has finished, the dos window will read "Completed", as well as the location of the created image.
Needed Programs/Tools
1) Download Burnero's Selfboot Inducer 2.0 Below.
OR
2) DCGrendel's Dreamcast Demo Loader is a utility written to allow you to use multiple emulators, demo's, and other homebrew applications to be put on one disk and selected via a menu interface. Although unfinished and lacks compatibility with some emulators/apps this is a nifty utility to save a few CD-R's. I suggest you use this for any mame for dc release!
